REMEDIAL MASSAGE

A method of massaging the soft tissues of the body to help ease pain and restore function. When muscles inflame they can become adheased, fibrosed, shorten tense, damaged or develop “knots”. Remedial Massage can provide a number of different techniques to assist the tissue become more pliable and functional resulting in less pain.  Remedial Massage can speed up repair and recovery, and improve range of motion.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

A firm massage that often utilizes knuckles and even flat parts of the forearm to deeply penetrate those tense muscles. Usually used in combination with other techniques.

RELAXATION MASSAGE

A calming, soothing style of massage designed to take you away from all stress and tension and leave you in a completely calm state.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Used before, during and after athletic events and pre and post season training to prepare for peak performance and promote flexibility and healing of injured tissues.  It also helps to prevent further injury and reduces stress in the body.  It is combined with other techniques such as stretching and passive movements.  You don’t have to be an athlete to get benefit from a Sports Massage.  It can be helpful to any active person, for example the gym enthusiast, jogger or net ball player.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

The lymphatic system consists of many vessels and ducts that move fluid throughout the body, including moving toxins away from healthy cells. The lymphatic system does not have its own pumping mechanism so the idea of lymphatic drainage is to assist the body with gentle pumping type movements and massage using special rhythmic hand movements. As well as the natural flow of the lymphatic system, there is also a focus on specific lymph nodes.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE

Different in that you may be propped by pillows in certain ways on the massage table depending on how many weeks pregnant you are. This type of Relaxation  massage  when utilized with stretching and  specific techniques to areas  across the lower back, sacrum, pelvis, mid back and feet helps sooth away the aches pains and stress of pregnancy. It is not recommended in first trimester.

AYURVEDIC MASSAGE

An ancient Indian therapeutic style of massage that has a holistic approach to therapy using marma points (vital points) to release tension and increase vitality, thereby helping in the restoration of the body's natural balance and constitution. It includes massage of the chakras (energy centres), increasing the flow of prana (life force) in the body.

REFLEXOLOGY

The application of pressure to the hands, ears and feet with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of lotions. Areas on the foot or hand may correspond to areas of other body parts. The feet are the primary area of application, which may relieve tension, improve circulation and help promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.
